Subprojects
The ICE LAW Project incorporated five subprojects:
- Territory: investigated understandings of territory that have been implemented in dynamic spaces including, but not limited to, polar regions
- Resources: examined how polar environments influence the regulation and economization of commercial and subsistence resources
- Migrations & Mobilities: explored the intersecting (im)mobilities of ice, vessels, and people in the polar environment
- Law: explored legal precedents for regulating polar environments, in Western and non-Western contexts
- Indigenous & Local Perspectives: documented perspectives informed by understandings of land, water, and ice, and explored responses to changed geophysical and political environments
